Systems

MBLA Architects + Urbanists are a RIBA Chartered Practice.  To achieve this we have had to comply with strict criteria in an accreditation scheme that gives our clients a mark of quality.  The scheme has been developed by RIBA following client and government feedback to ensure that our clients can expect a certain level of excellence in design and service. It ensures that we work to a common set of standards and have in place:

  • appropriate professional indemnity insurance
  • quality management systems
  • health and safety policy
  • employment policy addressing the principles of the RIBA policy statement on employment
  • continuing professional development for all staff
  • environmental management policy

Quality Management
Our Quality Management system is Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance accredited to ISO 9001:2008 in respect of Chartered Architects and Master Planning Services. Design and technical reviews are an integral and necessary part of our QM. We operate dedicated document management software designed specifically for the particular demands of managing and issuing all practice correspondence, data and drawings. Acreditation is recognition of our continuous work to improve quality and achieve excellence, and the continuous improvement of our management of the design process. Environmental Support
Experienced in providing energy efficient and sustainable design for both private and public sector clients we are able to provide code assessment and compliance strategy. MBLA are licensed assessors under the Code for Sustainable Homes. We are committed to achieving world class standards recognising that our designs directly impact on the natural and human environment. We aim to continually assess the environmental implications of our activities and to actively seek the cooperation of clients, contractors, suppliers and all our employees to minimise adverse effects. We work with some of the leading environmental consultants and the achievement of high levels of energy performance codes, including BREEAM Excellent, is now routine on our projects.
