AINSDALE CENTRE FOR HEALTH & WELL BEING

Liverpool (2005)

Clarity of plan arrangement was considered of key importance in the formal arrangement of accommodation. On the ground floor the main waiting area, cafe and reception form a central hub space accessible on entry to the building from either Sandbrook Way or the car park. In the centre of the clinic are the reception and general office areas with clinical space wrapping around the perimeter.

The first floor follows a similar arrangement to the ground, with the working rooms located around the perimeter of the building. A large void is formed over the main waiting hub area.  The form of the roof and cut back to the building facade places emphasis on the corner aspect and marks the entrance to the building. This is reinforced by the generous overhanging roof which acts as a grand entrance canopy as well as providing solar shade in the summer.
