The Lock by MBLA Architects + Urbanists

The Lock is an apartment building formed by two blocks seperated by a nine storey atrium through which circulation walkways and bridges provide access to individual apartments. The south-facing wall to the atrium is canted to reflect natural daylight into the space. The walkways and bridges are suspended from the glazed roof structure. The building’s geometry repsonds to and celebrates the building’s site, which is at the confluence of two of the major grids in the urban grain. Individual apartment units are expressed through modulation and articulation of the building envelope and roof profile.
