MBLA was appointed in 1995 to prepare masterplans for a new build sixth form centre on land occupied by existing teaching buildings and playing fields. Funding was generated for the first block of accommodation comprising hair dressing, beauty therapy and holistic studies on three floors over 2,400sqm.
The design brings the high class commercial environment into the classroom providing a realistic training environment for students looking to careers in the beauty industry. The project is one of a small number of Wella centres of excellence located throughout the UK. Constructed over 52 weeks to a value of £2.2 million the building was completed in September 1998.
